Korea Trip - Jeju, Daegu (Day 4)

1st January 2010

Breakfast in Jeju oriental hotel before flight transfer to Daegu, central of Korea.

Overpriced Jeju cactus caramel and candy from jeju airport
This cost like $10 SGD per box! Gosh~ finally i understand why CPY say this is so expensive!!!
Lunch at Daegu 순두부전문 restaurant (soft tofu specialize shop)
This shop served really good soondubu soup, they are even recommend by MBC (Korean TV channel).

My portion of truffle 순두부soondubu soup... clear, sweet and savory *i found love*

First stop for today: Dongwasha Temple to view a 33-meter Buddha statue with a pair of lion statues and decorated with stone lotus flowers.

This place is like a temple amusement park... so many!

YokSu (Holly Water) is the mineral water from mountain. Local believe drinking yoksu will bring you blessing and good health...

Even though it's shared, not hygienic, but since we came all the way up there we have to try it.. water taste Evian... sweet..

Everyone are squeezing in to touch the stone phoenix egg

Legend says by touching the egg will make your wish come true

Temple monk

Our Guan Yin temple

A place to burn personal item of the deceased

Frozen wishing well

Donghoasan Lantern

33m Buddha is under renovation -.- we can only see it from a distance

Using candle instead of incense

Bongtigi, traditional rice cracker.. mild rice fragrant mild sweetness.. i like it... Remember the cracker Flower over boys Guem Jan Di sells on the road when her family gone bankrupt? this is the one... The husband didn't really like it, he says this thing only ah-ma and children eats -.-

Next Stop: Daegu Spa Valley, hot spring water at the different kinds of bade pools, spa facilities and saunas.

Outdoor water park! Look at that! too bad it's close during winter season

There is indoor naked sauna spa and jim jirl bang. I wasn't feeling well, so we only tried jim jirl bang...Huge Disappointment, temperature of steam room wasnt as hot as sauna, didn't sweat much.

Dinner was also inside Spa valley, worst meal served. Sometime i really envy the guide, they can order things from the menu while we are getting this...

No Msg, no bone boiled soup... Just tasteless, dull as dish water hot pot...

We only manage to finish the dumpling.. even the husband didnt touch the remain..
The night had fallen at 5pm, day is short during winter..

The husband calling Leehoon

Lucky! we saw Ttokpoki kiosk right outside the entrance! :)

Super Spicy! So spicy until we cant finish half a cup!

Next stop: Shopping at Jung Angro Street
Before that, we got to enjoy a cup of cuppa on the house. Don't expect much, coffee in Korea taste horrible, they are super dilute! (except western coffee store like Starbucks)

Shopping time! We are given 2 hrs to shop! Guide told us not to buy cosmetic product as she will bring us to the "bogus" main outlet of faceshop on the last day of our trip. That, is a trap, i will elaborate more about it on my day 8 post..

Winter clothes every where.. only manage to swipe a basket of Etude house and some discounted Zara piece

Check in to new inter-burgo hotel

We got the handicap room, even the toilet look super spacious!

The most important corner in the hotel room! I absolutely want a house with a big toilet next time, at least one that can fit a hot tub! :)

My injured knee cap

Loots from Etude house. Purchased 2 moisturizer and 2 bb cream, rest of them are freebies!! I love freebies.. make cosmetic shopping much more enjoyable! Favorite freebies: Make up pouch (retail at $30)!

The husband's bb cream and freebies

BB cream, moisuter and freebies

Nose pack

Zara having a good 30% discount

Zara halter

The husband had some sudden Spicy fried chicken craving, we tried to explore around the hotel but we return back to our room after 15min.. This hotel is stand isolated up on the hill, hotel staff say we have to walk 15min downhill to the store.. given the minus degree freezing weather, we give up and back to bed.
